Our E-Learning Safe Administration of Medication (SAM’s) will provide you with the knowledge and practical skills that you will require to administer medication safely and to support any person in your care to take their medication safely.

Course Agenda:

• Understand the principles of safe medication management.
• Recognise legal responsibilities and documentation requirements.
• Identify different medication types and their routes of administration.
• Apply the “Five Rights” — right patient, drug, dose, route, time.
• Maintain hygiene and infection control during administration.
• Handle controlled drugs in line with policy.
• Record errors or omissions promptly and accurately.
• Understand side effects, contraindications, and adverse reactions.
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
• Ensure confidentiality, accountability, and safe storage at all times.
